Chris Pratt gives update on "darker" 'Jurassic World 2'

Filming of the sequel to Jurassic World is now in the works, with Pratt reprising his role as Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady.

This is what actor Chris Pratt said during a press conference promoting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", which is coming to theaters on May 5.

While Chris would only offer up cryptic details regarding the upcoming movie's storyline, he was more than happy to heap praise on the film's director, J.A. Bayona, 41.

This was pretty much the same tone that Bayona teased Jurassic World 2 to be even back then. "If you haven't seen "The Impossible" or 'A Monster Calls, ' I mean he's really visually masterful". "Deep emotions and suspense", Pratt remarked.

In Jurassic World, Owen was a former USA navy officer turned dinosaur trainer and researcher in the theme park. The theory was that Shaw was first featured in one of the first scenes in the original Jurassic Park film directed by Steven Spielberg.

Pratt will reprise his role as Owen Grady, a researcher and velociraptor trainer, in "Jurassic World 2".

Joining Pratt in the movie is returnee Bryce Dallas Howard and newcomers Ted Levine, Geraldine Chapman, and Justice Smith.

The film is set to be released on June 22, 2018.

While Trevorrow himself exited the project to helm Star Wars Episode IX, he and his writing partner Derek Connolly penned the script for the still untitled Jurassic World 2.
