Chacin throws gem to beat Diamondbacks 1-0

Corbin allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits with three walks over six innings of work last Saturday in an 8-4 loss to the Dodgers. he struggled to find the strike zone for most of the afternoon and gave up four extra-base hits in the process. San Diego broke through in the third with Wil Myers' two-out RBI single to center, but otherwise was frustrated.
Padres: RHP Jhoulys Chacin (1-2, 7.80), who spent part of the 2015 season with Arizona, is scheduled to make his fourth start for San Diego.
Chacin, who picked up his second win of the season to even his record at 2-2, allowed three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in eight scoreless innings.

The game got so out of hand that 33-year-old Padres shortstop Erick Aybar made his big league pitching debut in the eighth, taking over from Bethancourt to get Chris Hermann to ground out.
"He pitched well; he pitched really well", Padres manager Andy Green said. The Diamondbacks scored 7 runs over the span of two innings and went on to beat San Diego 11-2. "Every day, when he is on the mound, you have to compete because you know he is going to compete". But Greinke easily put away Travis Jankowski and Allen Cordoba.
The San Diego Padres placed right-handed pitcher Jarred Cosart on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.
But just like Greinke - until the eighth - Chacin was keeping the opposing team off the scoreboard.
The loss dropped the Diamondbacks to 10-6 and ended their three-game winning streak.

"He's an experience hitter, he hunts mistakes and he got a fastball that was up in the zone a little bit", Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said. "He gave us eight great innings". There is no timetable for his return. The pitcher's final line was 3.2 innings with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
