Bruins D Miller returns for Game 4

Less than 30 seconds after that, Derick Brassard took advantage of a sloppy Boston clearing attempt, banging home the puck while stationed on Rusk's doorstep for a 2-0 Ottawa lead.

"Tougher game as we move along", Boucher said.

"After playing all 82 games you miss at least the first two games of the playoffs was disappointing, frustrating, but you have to work hard to get back at it and we've been doing that", he said.

Defenseman Colin Miller is expected to play Wednesday in Boston's Game 4 matchup with the Ottawa Senators, head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed after an optional morning skate at TD Garden. Braden Holtby made 48 saves before being beaten on the overtime victor. Sometimes to grab it and keep it for the duration of a series, a player or a team needs to do something unorthodox to ensure it lands in favor of their squad.

Down 2-1 in a series for the 31st time in franchise history, the Bruins will hope to find a series-evening boost with the return of one of their injured defensemen for tonight's Game 4 with the Senators. Fortunately, the Senators played relatively clean for the remainder of the game and were able to convert that into a three-goal comeback. Despite taking the lead from goals by Kasperi Kapanen and Morgan Rielly, the Leafs struggled in the third period for the second straight night, and the Caps sent the game into overtime off of a third period goal from Nicklas Backstrom. Bobby Ryan got the game-winning goal just five minutes into overtime on a power play. The Bruins had only one shot in the last 16 minutes of the period and couldn't get any traction against Ottawa.

The Senators haven't done things the easy way this season, so why would they start now. While they've outshot the Bruins, and are almost equal in shot attempts, many of those shots have come outside the home plate area (widely considered to be the danger zone), which isn't good enough when facing a goalie of Rask's calibre. The 26-year-old Swede has tremendous speed, stops and starts on a dime, controls the puck as if it were velcroed to his stick and can ignite the Ottawa offense - especially so on the power play - as effortlessly as pushing a button on an automatic auto starter.

Overall, Rask has faced just nine shots from the high-danger area at even strength, stopping all of them, while allowing two goals on 10 shots from the medium-danger area. After the start, we didn't really give up a whole lot.

Then Brassard got on the board, slipping a slap shot by Rask for his second goal in two games. They're a good team even if though they're battling some injuries.

"Every game is a new game and it's a new story".

But the Bruins battled back, and quickly.

On the injury front, both teams have faced some adversity but the Bruins' situation has been worse.

Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson and Nicklas Backstrom scored for the top-seeded Capitals, who are now feeling the heat going into Game 3 Monday in Toronto. With Miller returning, fellow blueliner Tommy Cross will be a healthy scratch.
