Ander Herrera: 'Chelsea will win Premier League title'

"Mourinho has masterminded plenty of wins in big games down the years, but he usually does it with a defensive approach and by setting up with a team that, first and foremost, is very hard to break down. They were on the front foot and went at Chelsea from the start".

According to Daily Mail the virus that hit Moses, Alonso and Costa could have contributed to Chelsea's lacklustre performance in the defeat to Manchester United.

Diego Costa was also said to be ill before the clash at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, seized a rare chance to shine at centre-forward by netting United's seventh-minute opener and tormenting Chelsea's back three with his penetrative running.

Chelsea will travel to Old Trafford looking to restore their lead at the top of the table to seven points following Tottenham Hotspur's convincing triumph over Bournemouth today, and anything other than a win would give Spurs another boost in their hopes of chasing Antonio Conte's men down.

Costa played on but was below par by his standards - Chelsea did not muster a shot on target for the whole game.

Herrera has emerged as a key player under Mourinho, starting 23 of the United's 31 league fixtures so far this season compared with last season's 17 starts under Louis van Gaal.

Yet Alonso was not the only Chelsea player still suffering from the virus which had set in within the squad towards the end of last week.

"But I am really happy with the team and the results, because the Manchester City and Liverpool results on Saturday left us in the position of needing to win". Conte works a great deal on tactics but Mourinho let it be.

"If he was subdued in his interview after the game I think you can accept that because his team just haven't performed".
