'Unforgettable' review: Katherine Heigl goes psycho in glossy B-movie

Pictures brings to the big screen Unforgettable, a dramatic thriller that also represents the directorial debuts of Denise Di Novi.

Heigl plays the ex-wife, Tessa Connover, while Dawson portrays her ex-husband's new love, Julia Banks. I don't know why, I just struggled with it. "I just was able to play it very seriously because I thought I was on the edge of death". "I could first get into (the role) by feeling compassion for her". "And one night I sort of approached him with it and said, 'What do you think about a junior?' And he in the past said that he hated that idea and he could never be that guy, but I couldn't - I wasn't finding something that I was responding to", Heigl recalled.

"I think Joshua is a handsome name". So she steals Julia's phone at a party and hacks into it with impressive techno-stalker finesse; inside, she finds some sexy photos and a folder marked "legal", which contains a copy of the restraining order Julia took out against an abusive ex.

She shared: "It's so much better than I could have ever imagined, my life and family. But, from a certain point, you have to depart from there and introduce madness".

Di Novi, who has been working in Hollywood as a producer for more than three decades, is responsible for films like Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas and many more.

Heigl has been promoting her new film, Unforgettable, for weeks, and she says the most unforgettable thing about the process has been tackling the challenges of being a new mom while on a nation-wide press tour.

And Katherine previously admitted her third pregnancy "wasn't planned".
