Road to Playoffs: Cleveland Cavalier's Head Coach Tyronn Lue Talks Moving Forward

The defending champion Cavs, who would have finished second in the East regardless because Boston beat Milwaukee, will open a best-of-seven playoff series Saturday at 3 p.m.at The Q against the seventh-seeded Indiana Pacers.

"Through everything that went on with our team, we're in a position where we can do something special still", he said Thursday as Cleveland prepared to face in in the opening round on Saturday.

LeBron James will sit out the Cavs' last regular season game.

Jones played a key role in Game 6 of the Finals past year when the Cavs got in foul trouble.

Injuries, too, have played a role in Cleveland's fragmented, and some would say disappointing season, as 22 players have shuffled in and out of coach Tyronn Lue's rotations and the club was forced to go long stretches without key players like Kevin Love, J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver.

Prior to signing with the Hawks, Tavares played professionally in Spain. He's played in 12 career games for Atlanta.

"My confidence is that we can win", Lue said. Center Tristan Thompson, who missed four late-season games due to a sore thumb, is back.

The Cavaliers need a spark to ignite them in the playoffs - there is no doubt about that - and they are hoping Dahntay Jones can provide it.

"Larry did everything we asked him to do", general manager David Griffin said. I work hard and train hard. "But when things don't go your way and adversity hits, how can you get back to the point that nobody thinks you can get back to?"

"(Tavares) has been doing more", he added. "We're going to need that same intensity if not more, it's just a different game". "I am who I am all year, but I get even more locked in throughout the postseason, understanding the magnitude of the games". Now the Playoffs are here and we have all 15 guys healthy. The Raptors have higher expectations this spring, and Lowry is eager to get started.
