Arsene Wenger has not ruled out using a back-three formation in Sunday's FA Cup semifinal against Manchester City, although he refused to give anything away about his tactical plans.
Wenger is claimed to have privately indicated to Arsenal that he will sign the two-year contract extension which is on offer, but the club want to wait until the end of the season as they are aware of the fans' anger towards the manager at the present time. I think somebody told me that I had played 10 semi-finals in the FA Cup, so that means it's a great experience and it's always something special.
"Mathematically finishing in the top four is still possible even if it is very hard - but we have to give it a go".
Wenger, who confirmed that Danny Welbeck (toe) is a doubt and that Shkodran Mustafi (thigh) remains sidelined, hinted that he could utilise the same back-three system he deployed against Boro. However, winger Leroy Sané has been very impressive in recent months scoring nine goals, so far, in his debut season for Manchester City.
This is not the first time Wilshere has been sidelined due to injury and Wenger is anxious that the 25-year-old is not being able to maintain the kind of consistency required to become a great player.
Wilshere has spent 2016-2017 on loan at Bournemouth after becoming concerned about a lack of first-team opportunities at Emirates Stadium, with the England global expected to hold talks about an extension to his contract on his return to north London. "We haven't entered into any negotiations". "We need patience and let's hope it all goes well. I think with all these cases, when there's only one year to go, (it's done) during the break".
Wenger also suggested Wilshere will remain at Bournemouth for treatment until the end of his loan agreement, when he will then start the rehabilitation process back at Arsenal's London Colney headquarters.
"I think the definition of a good football player is that he is adaptable to any situation".
Londoners Arsenal may have the home advantage, but with speculation about the future of club staff and players alike reaching fever pitch, whatever Wenger says, it's all on him come Sunday.
"It's a fracture so there's not a lot you can do, it's just about when he can move again".
Kolasinac, 23, has made 21 appearances in the Bundesliga this season scoring 3 and assisting 5 in the process.
