Brighton on brink of Premier League promotion

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has challenged his side to win the Championship title having secured promotion to the Premier League on Monday.

"The amounts of money in the Premier League does equalise things a bit", Bloom told the British media.

Brighton chairman Tony Bloom has promised to strengthen Chris Hughton's squad as he prepares for the Premier League but will not be tempted to abandon a sensible spending strategy.

And so, being a mere matter of time as it is, Brighton will become the 48th new team to compete in the Premier League since its inception and the first virgin team since fellow south coasters Bournemouth made it up in 2015/16.

'We'll do things on a gradual basis as we have done. Bloom's biggest score came in 2011 after finishing runner-up at the A$100,500 Aussie Millions Poker Championship for A$975,000 ($964,296), and previous year, "The Lizard" also entered the $1 million buy-in Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza.

'He'd been a player we'd followed for a while, ' said Bloom.

"Brighton is a wonderful place for people to come and the support base has been exceptional this season - we've seen crowds grow, we've probably had more full houses this season than any other season, and that's testament to what the players have done and to what the supporters have enjoyed". His two previous spells as a Premier League manager both ended in him being sacked, although many felt he was treated extremely harshly by both Newcastle and Norwich. We were in a bad position when he came in. 'He gets a lot of respect and huge amount of credit from me. The first stage was to get us to stay up.

Don't get me wrong, playing in the best league in the world is not something I take for granted - and I'd take playing Stoke away in the Premier League over playing Brighton in the Championship every day of the week.
