The trademark for Pac-Man Maker was filed on April 18th with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
The Pac-Man series was a massive juggernaut back in the arcade era, becoming one of the most successful games of its time.
There's no word on when the game will release, but it's likely that we will hear more about this Super Mario Maker-like game in the near future.
Nintendo's 2015 Wii U title (and 2016 3DS title) Super Mario Maker was a big success, capitalising on people's nostalgia for the famous plumber and letting them create their own levels to share online.
Bandai Namco, owner of the Pac-Man IP, has registered a trademark for something called Pac-Man Maker. We don't have any details on what it might be, but it's easy to speculate it could be a game similar to Super Mario Maker, albeit dedicated to the old Pac-Man formula.
Although a make-your-own "Pac-Man" level type of game sounds cool, there's no guarantee that "Pac-Man Maker" is referring to video game that's now under development. Whatever it is, though, there does seem to be a good chance that it will be officially announced sooner rather than later.
Now none of the above games listed are official in making an entry in said new title, which you should keep in mind.
Though this registration does not necessarily mean Namco is working on Pac-Man Maker, it at least indicate it's toying with the idea.
Pac-Man Maker is not officially announced.
