LeBron pays tribute to grieving Thomas

Boston, seeded first in the Eastern Conference, will host Game 2 on Tuesday.

Rajon Rondo helped the Chicago Bulls thrash the Boston Celtics 111-97 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Tuesday night, and he also delivered a dose of reality to the home team in the midst of the blowout.

Thomas attended a film session and walk-through Monday, but did not speak with the media. Thomas will play in Game 2 before heading home to Tacoma, Washington for her funeral services, and is expected to suit up Friday night when the series shifts to Chicago for Game 3. The coach adds that all plans are subject to change depending on how Thomas feels. As he tragically lost his sister, Chyna Thomas, in a vehicle accident Saturday morning and then somehow played the very next day in Game 1, which shows how strong he really is. "All we can do right now is try and put our best foot forward", Celtics head coach Brad Stevens, who fell to 2-10 in his National Basketball Association playoff career, told CSNNE.

He scored 15 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, including five during an 8-0 run midway through the period that put Chicago in control, and they held on to beat the Celtics 106-102 on Sunday. "Isaiah (Thomas) is a really crafty guy and I just wanted to go out and play as hard as I could", Rondo said. "It looked like the Chicago team from early November and the Boston team from early November, and I think the odds of that happening again tonight are pretty long". I got to know him the last couple years. The Celtics, to their credit, have made clear that they support Thomas and he should take the time he needs, even if it means missing games.

Thomas shared a tearful moment with long-time friend and teammate, Avery Bradley, before Game 1.

"I had the luxury of playing with a guy named LeBron, and we did the same thing to Derrick Rose", Dwyane Wade said. And at 35 years old, he knows enough to know that he's not the one that's going to take over games like he did during his peak years in Miami. "And that we're here for him if he needs us", Stevens told Mass Live.

"Me and Isaiah have known each other since we were kids", Bradley said. Through it all, his wife Kayla Thomas (formerly Wallace) along with his two sons, James and Jaiden, have been by Isaiah's side. Al Horford said he couldn't find his rhythm on offense, one of the many reasons the Bulls dominated in transition. You can expect Boston to do a much better job of limiting Portis as he had the game of his life as he scored 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting with 9 rebounds.
