Cristiano Ronaldo: "The two goals in Munich were incredible"

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 career goals in UEFA club competitions with his brace against Bayern. "That is how ambitious he is".

"We scored early on and from there the game was easy".

Bayern Munich boss, Carlo Ancelotti has said his side was not lucky enough when they failed to utilize their opportunities to defeat Real Madrid at home in the Champions League quarter final first leg at Munich.

Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was key to keeping Wednesday's game close as the hosts played the final 30 minutes with ten men following the sending-off of Javi Martinez following two yellow cards.

Ronaldo said it was a moment to savour.

"We gave them too much respect and had too little bite".

Ronaldo hailed the German's efforts in his post-match comments and added: "Neuer was very good, he made some saves".

A shoulder injury sustained in the 4-1 Bundesliga victory over Borussia Dortmund consigned the Poland global - who has scored 38 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions this season - to the stands for the visit of Madrid. Hopefully Real Madrid win and we get through to the semifinals.

Asked to explain his impressive record in big matches, Zidane said: "I think it is the DNA of this club". I'm over the moon and so happy. He first opened his European goal-scoring account in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Hungarian side Debrecen on August 9, 2005.

When I started scoring in the Champions League I never thought I'd hit this number.

Zidane did not say whether he will rest Ronaldo for the team's away game at relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon tomorrow in the Spanish league.

Atletico played wel l Wednesday and should have done better than the narrow 1-0 victory, but the players and coach Diego Simeone were celebrating the advantage they will be carrying into the return match on Tuesday.

Zidane later revealed that Bale, who only returned from a long-term ankle injury in February, was not feeling in good shape at half-time and was replaced by Marco Asensio as a precaution.

With the second leg to come next week, Lewandowski feels he has recovered from a shoulder problem and should be fit to feature against Los Blancos.

CR7 also scored his 100th European goal in the process and is now two goals clear of eternal rival Lionel Messi in the all-time Champions League goalscorer standings.
