The Walking Dead Season 8 Gets New Series Regulars

As Negan's apparent second in command-and a guy who seriously rivals his boss in the one-liner department-Ogg's Simon quickly became a fan favorite from the Savior camp.

Following a seventh season that parted ways with four series regulars, the AMC zombie drama has promoted Steven Ogg (Simon), Katelyn Nacon (Enid) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Jadis) to full-time roles. Nacon plays as Enid, a teenage resident of Alexandria who has shown a good connection with Carl.

As we approach the premiere of The Walking Dead season 8, it looks like Pollyanna McIntosh and others have more job security.

The "Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple revealed to TVLine that the new season will carry a "different momentum" compared to its previous season. Aside from them, Sonequa Martin-Green's Sasha also died in the finale. Her role in the future of this series remains unclear, but we know that she didn't exactly make a whole lot of friends within Rick and the group as a result of her decision to betray them and sell them out to Negan.

The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season this fall on AMC! .

There is no official premiere date yet for season 8, but you can likely anticipate it starting up in October. And with Maggie's baby on the way and courageous Sasha in the ground, Enid looks like a good bet for big sister/junior-leader-in-training material, rather than just Carl's crush, Judith's sometime nanny and Hilltop's healthy-meal maker. So glad to see more of him in Season 8.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 is expected to film from late spring through autumn.
