Nearly twenty years after the series ended on PBS, the sneaky thief with the iconic red trench coat is headed back to television.
The episodes have, allegedly, already been ordered and will probably be as educational as the PBS show and the computer game that came before that.
Gina Rodriguez, the Golden Globe-winning star of hit series Jane the Virgin, has signed on to voice iconic crook Carmen Sandiego in Netflix's upcoming animated reboot, according to Tracking Board. Eventually, the franchise got so big that it developed into books and then a television series.
The debut has yet to be confirmed by Netflix though, but if this isn't true I swear I'm gonna punch the Mona Lisa in her smug face.
Netflix and reps for Gina have yet to comment on the news. She's lending her voice talent to The Star, an animated Christmas movie, plus she just wrapped her work on Ferdinand as well. The actress has been tweeting similar responses, including a straight forward "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" as the cherry on top.
