He even said that the Palo Alto Company has to rely on raising capital to fund itself and continue its operations.
Monday, the group of investors wrote a letter to Tesla's independent director acknowledging "phenomenal growth", but criticizing the company for having too many potential conflicts of interest on the board of directors. Elon Musk owned almost 19 percent of the bedraggled solar panel company before the merger.
"Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September".
Tesla Inc.'s plans to pad its lineup of electric vehicles are taking shape, with Elon Musk sketching out a timeline for the arrival of a semi truck, pickup and sports auto.
A group of Tesla Inc investors has urged the luxury electric auto maker to add two new independent directors to its board, without ties to Chief Executive Elon Musk, to "provide a critical check on possible dysfunctional group dynamics". In his tweet, Musk said that his team "has done an unbelievable job", calling the effort "seriously next level".
April 14 (ANI): American automotive and energy storage company Tesla is all set to unveil its most anticipated range of the semi-trucks in September.
With this said, Musk did say that truck drivers will still be needed for 'a few years' and therefore, Tesla Semi could possibly not be fully autonomous with the first generation. The reveal of the Class-8 truck will likely precede its official production by 12-18 months, if not more. The addition of a pickup to Tesla's lineup makes sense given the success of the category in the company's home country. It called for recruiting two new directors that don't have prior personal or professional relationships with Mr. Musk and eliminating the staggering of board elections. "Selling vehicles at a profit", said Jackson, who predicted that Tesla would either fulfill investor expectations or become "one of the great Ponzi schemes of all time". A Tesla representative would not offer further details on the plans. The company said in February it was talking to 20 potential customers about its electric truck.
To this, Tesla responded that they've been actively pursuing the search for new board members for the past 'several months' and that we should expect an announcement really soon. Its anticipated shipping timeline shows the first units should go out to customers by the end of this year. Its lower-cost Model 3 electric vehicle is due out by the end of this year.
