Easter egg hunts for this weekend

If you missed the Easter egg hunt today, here are some egg hunts happening on Easter Sunday.

Asked if the Easter bunny costume was hot and itchy, Shepherd said not itchy but if she stood still too long in one spot, it got hot.

On a damp afternoon, the baseball/softball fields were filled with hundreds of families and children ready to hop to an early Easter by egg hunting on the fields. Kids from 1 to 8 years old can head out to the Frontier Park Sports Complex to put as many eggs in their bucket as they can. The church better organized the event, using wristbands to identify a child's age and utilizing more of the space available in the park.

Last year's event attracted more than 9400 people to the hunt through the former corridors of power, with new trails selected for 2017's event.

Easter Egg Hunt: The Easter Bunny will kick off the "hunt" at 10 am and he wants to remind all of you to bring your own baskets!

Several communities around the Miami Valley are holding Easter egg hunts on Saturday, ahead of the holiday.

Also Saturday - Naperville Trinity Church of the Nazarene has both an Easter egg hunt and pancake breakfast for kids up to 4 grade. The event at People's Church brought families like the Maynards out, and mom Breanne says ideal weather helped create a great atmosphere for her two kids. The Auburn 2264 Moose Lodge sponsored a hunt at the Auburn Recreation District's Recreation Park that began at 10 a.m. Typically their Easter falls later than the mainstream Easter due to a different calendar, but for this year the dates line up.

"I wanted to do this because I thought it would be fun and a good experience", 9-year-old Isabel Polavieja said.

In the past, the Fire District has held their annual Easter egg hunt on the Saturday before Easter in Sandstone Park.

Kids were separated by age and no one left without eggs. It will be followed by the free breakfast in our church's Family Life Center.

Austin Landing is putting on a "Hop Into Spring Egg Hunt" Saturday afternoon.
