Former Andhra Pradesh Minister, TDP leader and MLA Devineni Nehru passed away of a cardiac arrest today at the age of 65.
Nehru, who died of cardiac arrest, was being treated at Care Hospitals, Hyderabad.
Devineni Rajasekhar, also called as Nehru, is one of the senior most politicians in Krishna District.
Nehru started his political career as student union leader and he started his own union Nehru's United Students' Organisation (USO) still this union continue strongly in Vijayawada. He got elected to assembly for five times from Kankipadu assembly segment in Krishna district.
He entered politics during NTR time and also worked as a Minister in NTR's Cabinet.
A key figure in Vijayawada politics, he had joined TDP when it was floated by NT Rama Rao in early 1982.
His body was shifted to Vijayawada, where last rites will be performed on Tuesday.

After switching over to the N Chandrababu Naidu camp in 1996, when the TDP split, he later joined the Congress. Nehru lost the elections in 1999 but was later elected in 2004 and defeated in 2009 and 2014.
Nehru and other accused in the case relating to the murder of Ranga murder were later acquitted. Telugu movie "Vangaveeti" was based on the feud between the two rivals.
Nehru was a close aide of TDP founder N T Ramarao and sided with the latter during Chandrababu Naidu's revolt against the then chief minister.
