Russia, Iran and Syria unanimously regarded the United States missile strikes as an aggression in brutal violation of worldwide law and the UN Charter, Lavrov noted.
At a meeting of the three countries' foreign ministers in Moscow on Friday, Russia's Sergey Lavrov denounced the USA attack on a Syrian military airfield earlier this month, calling it a "flagrant violation" of worldwide law.
Washington launched 59 missiles at the Syrian airbase after a chemical attack in Idlib province on 6 April that Western powers blame on the Syrian government. Russian Federation has claimed that the victims were killed by toxic agents released from a rebel chemical arsenal and pushed for an global probe. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem said Friday's meeting sent a "strong message" to Washington. He denounced the US attack targeting Syria as what he called a "flagrant violation" and announced that further such attacks would lead to "grave consequences not only for regional but global security".
In Russia's opinion, the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons needs to be broadened to consist of experts from several different nations. Russian Federation vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution on Wednesday that demanded the Syrian government cooperate with an inquiry into the suspected sarin gas attack that killed dozens of people.
"The investigation into this high-profile incident must be transparent and leave no doubt that someone is trying to hide something".
Lavrov said that actions such as the USA airstrike on Syrian province of Idlib on April 7 to change the Syria regime would fail.
"These attempts will not succeed, this will not happen", he said. Syria said the USA manufactured the chemical attack as an excuse to attack. He added that Russia, Iran and Syria have "common procedures against any aggression", but wouldn't offer any specifics.
Lavrov met Friday with his counterparts from Syria and Iran after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited Moscow earlier this week. In addition, in a joint statement, Russia, Syria and Iran demanded to prevent a repetition of illegal actions against sovereign nations like those perpetrated by the United States. It has conducted an air campaign in Syria since September 2015, saving Assad's government from imminent collapse and helping to reverse the Syrian military's fortunes.
