Holy Week services and events

The Saratoga Alliance Church invites everyone to an Easter celebration titled "O Glorious Day" to be held at the Platte Valley Community Center on Sunday. The Yuma Lions Club will serve a pancake breakfast after the service. Easter Sunday worship service will be at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16, a joyful celebration with church service and Communion at 10:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to support local charities. Easter Sunday service, April 16, at 10 a.m., a festive Easter Sunday worship. 79 South, will have Easter morning services with Sunday school beginning at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11.

Morris Brown AME Church will have sunrise service from 6:00-8:00 a.m. Easter festival worship services.

Good Friday service, April 14, at 7 p.m.in the sanctuary.

The First Baptist Church of La Vernia, 830-253-1239, will have a prayer, praise, and preparation service at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

As Easter Sunday approaches, entertain the kids (and teens) with these 15 community-sponsored Easter egg hunts. Child care is available. Easter Sunday sunrise service. The service will be followed by breakfast and Sunday school classes. The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m.

Hanna Hills Church will be holding their Easter service at 6 p.m.at their church 205 Main Street. The Passion of the Lord will be at 7 p.m. on Good Friday.

Following that will be the regular Easter service at 11 a.m. with pastor Dennis Vance Jr. speaking.

Zion Lutheran Church (Moulton) - Communion services April. 16, 10:45 a.m., followed by egg hunt.

Sunday, Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a sermon titled "Ambassadors for Christ", from II Corinthians 5, at the afternoon service. An Easter service, featuring the Norman High Brass Quintet, will be at 11 a.m., with text from John 20:1-18. Resurrection Sunday. 10 a.m., classes for all ages; 11 a.m., morning service, 6 p.m., evening service.

Easter Sunday services will be 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with a reception and Easter egg hunt following the late service. Toward the end of the service, the Christ candle is hidden, representing the apparent victory of the forces of evil over good. Easter Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m.

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 111 S. Fifth St., in Iliff, is offering a 10 a.m. On Sunday, Mass will be held at 7 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.

Non-denominational Bible Club: Tuesdays at North City School in Athens from 3:35-4:30 p.m.in the art room; Wednesdays at Westside School from 3:35-4:30 p.m.in the cafeteria. Easter church service will take place at 10:30. The show begins at 6 p.m. Events are on Easter if not otherwise noted. Easter service on "The Power of the Resurrection", followed btyy an Easter egg hunt and lunch at 12:05 p.m.

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Marysville, will have Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Tenebrae service on Good Friday will be at 7 p.m.
