Troops mass in Pyongyang show of strength

China yesterday warned against allowing tensions over North Korea's nuclear weapons programme to spiral out of control, as a USA naval strike force sails towards the Korean peninsula amid speculation that Pyongyang will conduct a sixth nuclear test. USA media claimed that President Donald Trump may order a strike against North Korea in case Pyongyang decides to carry out another nuclear weapon test.

Now, U.S. officials are speculating that North Korea will conduct its sixth nuclear test on the country's most important holiday - April 15th or "Day of the Sun" as it's known in North Korea.

Kim, a 30-something leader who took power in late 2011, emphasises nuclear weapons as the foundation of his national defense strategy. "No one can become a victor", Wang said.

The North Korean government said Trump's decision to send a Navy strike force group to the Korean Peninsula and continue military exercises in the area are signs that that the U.S.is preparing for an attack. Senior intelligence officials have also spoken to reporters and revealed the U.S. Twice, Kim has conducted nuclear tests during the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration, and once, missile tests on the Fourth of July, which foreign policy experts believe were intentional acts of aggression toward North Korea's enemies.
