"The spy was tried through Field General Court Martial under the Army Act and awarded the death sentence". India says he was kidnapped in Iran, where he ran a small business.
Sharif was addressing a passing out parade of cadets at Asghar Khan PAF Academy in Risalpur on Tuesday, reports Radio Pakistan. "This sentence will be considered a premeditated murder", the minister said.
"We are not in a position to judge the process or to have a position on this particular case", the United Nations secretary general's spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said in response to a question from an Indian journalist at the regular noon press briefing. The government is trying its best to ensure justice to Jadhav but I can not comment on the details of our plans,"the spokesperson said".
He underlined the need of cooperation between India and Pakistan, " so that in the US-Russia rivalry, we don't end up being losers".
The External Affairs Ministry also said that New Delhi was not aware where Kulbhushan Jadhav was held and the condition he was in due to Islamabad's refusal to provide consular access to him.
He said Pakistan had requested India to help in probing Kubhushan Jadhav's role, and their request itself showed that they had no specific proof against Jadhav. This is a serious matter.
A statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday said Jadhav was declared guilty of waging war against the country.
Defending the death sentence, Pakistani high commissioner to Indian told in the interview that Pakistan has "arrested hundreds of operatives and foot soldiers on the basis of information provided by Jadhav" ever since his arrest. I would like to remind everyone of how India dealt with Ajmal Kasab, Kassab was one non-state actor involved in one incident, this man was responsible for launching several such incidents in Balochistan and Karachi. Drawing angry reaction Indian nationals have started a campaign to bring Kulbushan safely back to home.
Members of Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) also led a march to protest the condemnation of Jadhav in Pakistan.
