Rouhani urges global probe upon chemical attack in Syria

The US, the United Kingdom and the Western military alliance North Atlantic Treaty Organisation have said Khan Sheikhoun was the victim of a chemical attack by Syrian forces; the Syrian government denies this, while Russian Federation says the gas came from a rebel stockpile that was hit in a Syrian airstrike.
Johnson said in a statement, "Developments in Syria have changed the situation fundamentally".
The U.S. Congress is divided over Thursday's missile strike at Syria ordered by President Donald Trump, with some lawmakers voicing strong support while others questioning its constitutionality.
The former ExxonMobil chief executive noted that holding such talks would require the participation of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime along with its allies.
U.S. President Donald Trump said the attack was meant to punish Syria for its use of chemical weapons against civilians in a deadly incident this week.
"We call on Russian Federation to do everything possible to bring about a political settlement in Syria and work with the rest of the worldwide community to ensure that the shocking events of the last week are never repeated".

Howard lauded the quick action taken by the commanders and crews of the two ships in response to the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime.
"Moscow is ready to cooperate with Washington even at the toughest moment of bilateral relations", she said.
Speaking at an emergency sitting of the UN Security Council in NY, the USA ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Halley, said that the actions had been "fully justified" and proportional.
Moscow also suspended the air safety agreement which has governed US-Russian interaction in the skies over Syria.
"The continued role of Assad must be under question", Turnbull said on Saturday.
According to US Department of Defense, a total of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched during the attack. Secondly, we don't see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there.
Shortly before their strike on Syria, the USA warned Russia about the attack and excluded from their target zone places where the Russian army was stationed. But if we keep turning a blind eye to this sort of thing [the Assad administration], terrorist states and dictatorial powers will begin to do evil things, so something must be done.
The official SANA news agency said nine civilians, including four children, were killed in the strike.
