Ethics Commission clears Rebekah Mason

The group partially paid Mason.

"After a thorough investigation, the Commission determined that there was no evidence supporting the allegations against Rebekah Mason and voted unanimously in open session to dismiss the complaint", Albritton said in a statement Thursday.

"We will not have a situation like Bill and Hillary Clinton had when they left the White House", Zeigler said, referring to claims that the former first couple took several valuable items from the presidential residence. Witnesses quoted in an impeachment report said the governor used law enforcement assigned for his protection to try to break off his relationship with Mason.

Pelham, a native of Auburn, most recently served as Chief of Staff to then Lieutenant Governor Ivey since her election in 2010.

The current location of "Wanda's desk" is unknown.

ALEA has been beset with administrative problems, notably the firing of Spencer Collier in 2016 and the recent resignation of Stan Stabler as Secretary.

In the recordings, the Governor calls Mrs. Mason "baby" and discusses how much he enjoys standing behind her and touching her breasts. He pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor campaign violations, that arose during an investigation of his alleged affair with a top aide.

The State Ethics Commission met April 5 and held 10 hours of hearings on complaints against Bentley and Mason.
