The milestone happened with 4:17 left in the fourth quarter after Westbrook assisted to Semaj Christon's three-pointer. It also marked the third time Westbrook scored 50 points in a triple-double this season.
Westbrook had 50 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in breaking Robertson's record of 41 triple-doubles that stood since the 1961-62 season.
Harden led the Houston Rockets to a 54-26 mark this season so far and has put up incredible numbers of his own, averaging 29.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and an NBA-leading 11.2 assists per contest. Westbrook had 23 points, 12 rebounds and six assists by halftime at Denver on Sunday.
"I practice that shot every day pregame", Westbrook said. He has long silenced any doubt the Thunder would still be competitive in the Western Conference after Kevin Durant's departure to the Golden State Warriors.
