Freedom Caucus' Jordan: Tweets and blame 'don't change facts'

White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed that Trump was playing golf with Paul as well as White House budget director Mick Mulvaney at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia.

Dan Scavino Jr., director of social media for the White House, called on MI voters to "defeat" Rep. Justin Amash, a Republican House Freedom Caucus member and a frequent Trump critic.

Opposition from the House Freedom Caucus which has around three dozen conservative Republicans, contributed to circumstances that forced House Speaker Paul Ryan to withdraw the health care bill from a March 24 vote that would have produced a certain defeat.

Obamacare supporters had thought they were on track for victory last week when lawmakers in Topeka put the expansion bill on Mr. Brownback's desk, just days after a Republican effort to begin repealing and replacing Obamacare fell apart on Capitol Hill.

"Talks on Repealing and Replacing ObamaCare are, and have been, going on, and will continue until such time as a deal is hopefully struck".

Since the collapse of the American Health Care Act in the House of Representatives, Republicans have been in a bit of disarray, as it's become evident that the hard-edged opinions of the very conservative Freedom Caucus will likely prevent President Donald Trump from realizing his to-do list without working with Democrats. We are going to have great health care in this country.

"The risk is that you'll make a bad situation worse, and I certainly don't recommend this approach for everyone".

In comments to the White House press pool upon arriving back at the White House, Paul continued: "We had a great day with the president".

Freedom Caucus members said they wanted to see the White House offer in writing - expected Tuesday - before deciding whether to accept it.

Separately, in an interview with the Financial Times done Friday and published Sunday, Trump said that, in the end, he didn't want to hold a vote on the first bill.

"It would be mostly a repeal bill, with the replacement aspect being that you're leaving some underlying law in place", Paul said.

The White House rejected the insinuation, saying the tweet was not a violation of the law because "it clearly comes from his personal account".

On CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, a member of the caucus, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, responded to those attacks.

Many in the House Freedom Caucus and Liberty Caucus opposed the bill on grounds that it was either too quickly being implemented or that in lacked a more free-market based approach to healthcare. "Many of them have already left, and many of them as you know have already given us their vote".

The White House tried to claim that Trump was having meetings, but after the AP had caught a pic of Sen. Repealing Obama's law has been a paramount GOP campaign promise that helped them grab control of the House that year, the Senate in 2014 and elected Donald Trump to the White House last November.

"The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast", Trump tweeted Thursday morning. "They are negotiating as we speak".
