Wenger: Arsenal's Alexis is happy but agent is problem?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger once again refuses to budge when asked to confirm whether he will still be in charge of the club beyond the end of the season.

"Sam Allardyce will know how to cause Arsenal problems and I think it will end up being a draw".

"I can understand that the subject is maybe of an interest but to me what is of interest is what is happening on the football pitch".

'It is a massive gap now to finish in the top four.

Wenger's claims do not have me convinced unfortunately, although we of course want to believe that our top goalscorer will extend his stay in North-London.

"That was questioned for a while and I think we gave the right response".

Wenger was thrilled with Arsenal's performance in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over West Ham, which moved his side to within four points of Champions League qualification, with a game in hand. We have to show that focus now until the end of the season.

Emiliano Martinez will again play in goal with Petr Cech and David Ospina ruled out through injury, while Theo Walcott will likely keep the captain's armband in the absence of Laurent Koscielny.

It is also 11 years since Arsenal reached the Champions League final, with the chances of lifting either of those major trophies appearing further away than ever after their domestic travails and a European humiliation against Bayern Munich.

"I believe that basically he wants to stay at the club and it's down to finding an agreement with his agent", Wenger told reporters today as he previewed Monday's league game against Crystal Palace.

"After that most of the time it is down to finding an agreement - but finances are involved in it yes".

'The player first has to see if they are happy, most of the time it's down to find an agreement.
