Part Nissan X-Trail, part tank: it's the Rogue Trail Warrior

The refreshed 2017 Rogue comes with a new look, enhanced utility, and an expanded suite of Nissan Safety Shield technologies. All this means that the Rogue is going to be one painfully slow vehicle in the desert, so if you're thinking of chasing bandits during the apocalypse a la Mad Max, this is not the auto for it.

The one-off Nissan Rogue Trail Warrior is pixel-camouflage-wrapped, with a military-like design punctuated by the Dominator tracks supplied by American Track Truck Inc. that replace the compact crossover's standard wheels.

NEW YORK:Nissan is literally taking its sub-compact SUV to the next level and well to make it stand out from the crowd the companu has simply made a decision to put tank tracks on it. Nissan calls its the Nissan Rogue Warrior Trail project and will be unveiled at the 2017 New York International Auto Show the company said in a press release. And then there is the most obvious change.

Other off-road additions include tinted headlights, LED spotlights, fender flares and a winch to accompany the 48-inch long, 30-inch high and 15-inch wide tracks.

Crossover sales are going rogue in more ways than one.The segment now accounts for roughly one in every three vehicles sold since October 2016, with the Nissan Rogue driving to become the top-selling. The Rogue's suspension and wheels had to be modified to fit the track system.

Nissan has come up with a lot of creative concepts for its best-selling vehicle in America, the Nissan Rogue. Together, that's good for 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft. of torque.

"After hosting an extremely successful "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" consumer experience at previous auto shows, we felt it absolutely necessary to host an encore experience in NY", said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications & Media, Nissan North America, Inc. The exclusive limited-edition Death Trooper helmet replica - only available with the purchase of the 2017 Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition - will also be onsite.
