Brittany Carter, 23, was charged with first-degree rape and aggravated robbery following the alleged incident which occurred on January 28, according to local media.
Women being charged with rape is unusual, but not unheard of, with a 23-year-old woman from Brisbane, Australia, appearing in court last November after she was charged with two counts of rape, sexual assault, depreciation of liberty and causing bodily harm. Once inside the taxi, Carter allegedly performed a sex act on the driver while Jackson held a knife to his throat to force him to submit.
They then fled after allegedly stealing $32 from the driver's pocket and warrants were issued for their arrests.
Findlay Detective Lt. Robert Ring said, "We don't know why she did it".
Adding, 'Maybe it was a distraction because they took money from him'.
Jackson is still at large, police said.
According to Carter's indictment she is alleged to have "purposefully compelled" the cabbie to engage in sexual conduct "by force or threat of force". Records reveal that Carter was indicted twice in 2016 on felony drug charges of heroin possession and allowing a vehicle to be used in the trafficking of heroin. The third passenger has not yet been identified so no charges have been filed.
She's now being held on $60,000 bond at the Hancock County Jail. Carter also faces two drug charges as part of probation violation.
She was arrested after the driver reported the incident.
