Zidane remains coy on Real Madrid future

Passion was clearly running high as Atletico Madrid found a late equaliser against rivals Real Madrid on Saturday, Antoine Griezmann levelling the scores with minutes remaining to cancel out Pepe's opening goal. Football is like that, but we're not likely to alter anything. That headed effort looked like it would be enough for his side to see off Atletico and collect three precious points, but then Griezmann happened.

Much is being made of the incident in the Spanish press, but there was also a warm handshake between the two, which has apparently gone completely unnoticed. "But. we have to fight for it", Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane knows a hitherto successful season will be quickly forgotten if his side blow their chances at a La Liga and Champions League double in the next two weeks. "There's likely to be a race for the league before the ending".

"We know we're a really strong team, we have an unbelievable mentality".

Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann has not ruled out the possibility of joining Real Madrid but admits that he is now happy at Atletico Madrid. They notched a 3-0 victory on the back of Cristiano Ronaldo. We suffered for 20 or 25 minutes.

"Our changes gave us more agility in the middle of the pitch".

"It will be a final, just like every game between now and the end of the season if we want to win LaLiga", he said of the Clasico on April 23.

As for the away side, there are a lot of injury concerns as the likes of striker Kevin Gameiro, Sime Vrsaljko, Tiago Mendes, substitute goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya and Augusto Fernandez are all sidelined with injuries. "Fernando played a super game, pressed, fought, and forced great save from their keeper".

L'Equipe quoted Griezmann on the subject of a move to Madrid in further depth.

"Interest from Madrid? I can't say "yes" or "no". It was tough, but we got the draw thanks to a great pass by Angelito", Griezmann said. They are a tough team, strong team, who work hard. If they get Griezmann he would automatically be a starter.
