UFC 210: Daniel Cormier defeats Anthony Johnson

The main event of tomorrow's UFC 210 card in Buffalo is a light heavyweight title fight match between Daniel Cormier and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.

It's Cormier's second successful title defense since defeating Johnson for the then-vacant title at UFC 187 in May 2015.

Following the fight, an emotional "Rumble" (22-6 record in MMA) went first for the interview and revealed that he would be retiring from UFC.

Johnson said it wasn't true during his post-fight press conference, and that he always "went all out" each and every time he stepped inside the cage.

Cormier, however, doesn't see where Johnson has evolved. Featherweight Myles Jury punches Mike De La Torre, bottom, during a mixed martial arts bout at UFC 210, Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Buffalo, N.Y.

First, there was the controversial ending to the Middleweight bout between Chris Weidman and Gegard Mousasi that saw Mousasi be awarded the TKO decision after what ultimately was an error by referee Dan Miragliotta.

Johnson lost by submission in the second round against Cormier at UFC 210, and the 33-year-old confirmed in the immediate aftermath he would not be returning to the octagon.

"I don't see it as a threat, I see it as a challenge", Weidman said. He did however say that he would prefer to fight Jones ahead of Manuwa.

"I will never, ever forget you". He's recorded three straight knockouts, including a first-round knockout of Uriah Hall on November 19, avenging his loss to Hall a year prior.

A fighter must not knee someone in the head if they have their hands on the ground but replays showed Weidman's hands were marginally lifted so Mousasi's devastating blows were legal and legitimate.

"This is where he's from, I get it", Cormier said.

"It's not the way I wanted to win and I wanted to continue to fight". You can't beat me, Jimi. "We'll probably talk closer to when it's time for him to fight, which I don't believe will be in July anyway".

"That's why I'm going to be happy to watch it live". I will use this one to be a better fighter and a better representative of my country. Mousasi is riding a winning streak, but Weidman is a former champion and is still risky.

Thiago Alves returned to welterweight to secure a unanimous decision over fellow veteran Patrick Cote - and end his opponent's career.

Charles Oliveira defeated Will Brooks via submission.
