Nikki Haley Gets Heckled At Global Women Summit In New York

"Haley indicated in an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" that the United States does not see a peaceful political resolution for Syria's civil war as long as Assad remains in power".

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered cruise missile strikes on a Syrian air base after he blamed Assad for the chemical attack, which killed at least 70 people, many of them children, in the Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun.

In its strongest criticism of the Trump administration to date, Russian Federation accused the US of breaking "international law" by launching a deadly missile attack against a Syrian government airfield Thursday night.

"We may have just reached a new low in relations now, while expectations for a swift reset had been too optimistic", said Gunter Deuber, the head of central and eastern European research at Raiffeisen Bank. Russia's sponsorship for this murderous regime.

The US "aggression" in Syria contributes to terrorists' strengthening in Syria, Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vladimir Safronkov said. "But not only say it, it was time to act", Haley said at the meeting.

USA officials blame Moscow for propping up Assad.

China's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying, during a daily briefing on Friday, said her country was urging calm.

When CNN asked about USA allegations that Russian Federation might have been complicit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov replied via text message: "That is not true".

He stopped short of accusing Russian Federation of being directly involved in the planning or execution of the attack, saying he had not seen "any hard evidence" to suggest the nation was an accomplice to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"I have hit Russian Federation over the head more times than I can count and it's because if they do something wrong we're going to call them out on it", she told the annual Women in the World Summit.

At the opening night of Tina Brown's Women in the World Summit on Tuesday, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, sat down with NBC News anchor Greta Van Sustern for what was billed as a chat about "her high-stakes job as one of President Trump's top diplomats".

"Developments in Syria have changed the situation fundamentally", Johnson said in a statement, according to a Reuters report.

"The joint investigative mechanism has found beyond any doubt that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons against its own people multiple times", Haley said.

Almost 90 people were killed in the massive strike which marked a dramatic escalation in American involvement in Syria's six-year civil war.

"You can not have a stable Syria without jihadist elements on the ground with Bashar al-Assad in power", he added.

Trump said on Wednesday that he was reassessing his approach in Syria following the attack, though Neither Haley nor Trump have provided further details about that approach.

Tillerson and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, spoke by phone on Saturday, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, which said the United States had initiated the call.

It comes amid reports Russia, Iran and its allies said the United States had crossed a "red line" and warned they "will respond to any aggression" in the future.
