Mariah Carey and ex-husband Nick Cannon have made a habit out of staying friends and co-parents of their 5-year-old twins - but apparently that closeness was too much for Bryan Tanaka to take. "She has better things to focus on", a Carey source tells PEOPLE.
Carey and Tanaka, who got together following the breakdown of Carey's relationship with fiancee James Packer, had been together for five months. Mariah Carey broke up with boy toy, Bryan Tanaka.
The We Belong Together hitmaker has remained on good terms with Nick since their divorce in 2016, largely for the benefit of their six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. They maintain a close relationship, and are often spotted vacationing and enjoying dinner together with their children as a family.
Tanaka reportedly became so jealous that he started openly flirting with other women in front of Carey.
Tanaka felt "disrespected" by the situation and, according to TMZ, he even demanded Carey come home during the event.
Mariah wasn't only sick of Bryan's allegedly insecure ways. "I just don't feel comfortable talking about my personal life.Me and my boyfriend don't want to do that". While TMZ's source says Carey anxious Tanaka's endgame was fame - yeah, could have told you that too - I'd say they both got something out of this not at all fake relationship, no? He slammed Carey's show, Mariah's World, and dissed her relationship with Tanaka.
