Wenger: Arsenal Will Be The One To Announce My Future

The Gunners are now fifth in the league as they face the prospect of missing out on Europe's most prestigious tournament for the first time in 21 consecutive seasons.

Speaking to the media prior to Arsenal's match away to Crystal Palace on Monday, Wenger once again played down speculation over Sanchez's future. The former England boss has lost 15 times to Wenger's Arsenal in the league.

Wenger also stated that the announcement will come "from the board" and not him. When every year you see the opportunity, believe it's actually potential against large teams and then possess a huge defeat, it impacts me because I've always wished to accomplish large goals and always will.

"I think the players first have to see are they are happy to the club and after (that) most of the time it's down to finding an agreement, but the finances are involved in it, yes".

Mesut Ozil has urged Arsenal to strengthen their squad if they want to challenge for major titles.

"Some people don't show it as much as him, but when we lose or things don't go well everyone gets frustrated".

Without Champions League football next season, Sanchez will feel his talent is being wasted at Arsenal.

"He's very ambitious. He wants to win the Champions League". But he had more to say about Alexis' situation.

Palace host Arsene Wenger's side at Selhurst Park hovering a merge three points clear of 18th-placed Swansea after a 3-1 loss to Southampton on Wednesday checked their four-game win streak. "We had a hiccup in recent weeks, what is important is to move on".

"That was questioned for a while and I think we gave the right response".

Arsene Wenger has again refused to confirm whether he intends to stay on as Arsenal manager beyond the end of the current campaign, but has hinted that he has plans in place for pre-season. However, if he can help his side win the FA Cup, silverware and the taste of domestic success may tempt him to stay for at least one more season, if not more.
