Egg-ceptional: Egg Hunt fills baskets

On April 12, lap-sit story time with an Easter Egg Hunt is at 10 a.m for children under the age of 2½. “Its a good family recreation and its something that is positive for families.”. The Edwardsville Lions Club will conduct their annual Easter egg hunt beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 16 at Vadalabene Park - between Home Avenue and Voge Street.

It is sponsored by Lang Premier Properties-Real Estate One office at 11 W. 14 Mile Road in Clawson. The Easter Bunny usually makes an appearance, often via parachute, so bring a camera. All tickets include the Easter egg hunt and brunch.

The egg hunt is free. The traditional hunts for ages 0 to 4 begin at 9 a.m., for five to eight year olds at 10:30 a.m. and youngsters ages 9 to 12 start at 11:30 a.m. Admission - $5 per vehicle entry fee.

"We have tons of children participate each year and we want it to continue to be a successful and fun event", Williams said.

The event is open to children ages 9 and younger who are divided into four age groups for the race for plastic Easter eggs. There will be candy filled eggs, hard boiled eggs and eggs with notes for free books too! It's for kids ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 8; prizes will be given to those who find eggs, and all participants will receive an award.

The family-friendly event will be held Saturday, April 15 at the south end of Gibson Park at 11 a.m.; it's always fun no matter what the weather!

"I think it's great to build those skills now because the children are energetic and like to help", Prokop said.
