The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the airstrike on the eastern side of Khan Sheikhoun killed a woman, marking the first death in the town since Tuesday's chemical attack that killed 87.
The Russians operate drones in the area routinely so the Pentagon can not be certain the drone operator even knew what was happening, but the drone was a Russian asset.
The U.S. military has been clear that the chemical attack itself was carried out by Syrian jets. U.S. aggression against Shayrat strengthens regional extremism and terror, and global lawlessness and instability, and must be condemned.
The chemical weapons attack brought sharp condemnation from the Trump administration, which is seen as developing an evolving policy on Syria.
'Because all we are saying is that there should be condemnation of that chemical weapons attack, and secondly, that there should be a thorough and urgent worldwide investigation, and I don't think anybody could possibly, reasonably, oppose such a resolution'.
His comments came after Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson pulled out of a Moscow visit hours before he was due to fly.
The kingdom is among the most vehement opponents of Assad and supports Sunni rebel groups fighting to oust him.
British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon criticized Russia's support of Assad, describing the chemical attack as a war crime that happened "on their watch".
Citing to a report from CNN, Haley said after the US launched strikes against the airbase that was home to warplanes that carried out a chemical attack against civilians earlier this week; she also slammed Russian Federation for supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
"We call on Russian Federation to do everything possible to bring about a political settlement in Syria and work with the rest of the worldwide community to ensure that the shocking events of the last week are never repeated". Russian Federation may have been able to use air defense systems at the base, where it has equipment, and decided not to, Oliker added.
Advisers said he was outraged by heartbreaking images of young children who were among the dozens killed in the chemical attack.
The attack is the first direct U.S. assault on the Assad government in six years of civil war. That said, the USA military has been far from invulnerable, even in relatively minor conflicts such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The strikes have catapulted Washington into confrontation with Russian Federation, which has advisers on the ground aiding Mr Assad, its close ally.
Russian Federation also took steps to publicly "diminish the effects of the strike", she said.
