Raider Nation Officially Calls Las Vegas Home

The Oakland Raiders don't deserve fan support for the seasons remaining until their planned move to Las Vegas, outspoken Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green declared Tuesday.

The question is whether the fans will feel the same way as the Coliseum authority does about having the Raiders stay an extra year before leaving?

The jury's out on how well this long goodbye will play with the team's Bay Area fan base. "The ones who gave their life blood to you, you lost them forever". When they needed something to hang their hat on, it was us who was there.

"We're still the Raiders and we represent Raider Nation.", according to Mark Davis. The new domed stadium is projected to have 65,000 seats and cost $2 billion dollars to build.

"Make sure we learn some of the issues, some of the pitfalls, some of the problems, " Del Rio said. His son, Mark Davis, now runs the team. If the Coliseum rejects the Raiders in 2019, that would leave the franchise with few options.

The Raiders could pay more in rent to stay in Oakland in 2019 or move to a temporary city like San Antonio for one year before making the permanent move to Las Vegas.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, the lone dissenting vote on the Raiders' relocation to Las Vegas, said fans should never foot the bill for stadium construction.

It's time to get used to saying the "Las Vegas Raiders".

Green said the Raiders bond with their fans was similar to that of the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. "You have just left the most passionate fan base in the National Football League".

"I think one of the things that's positive is that there's a chance there's not going to be re-alignment of our division which, going back a couple years, that was not a foregone conclusion", Hunt said, via Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

Madden was head coach of the Raiders from 1969 through 1978, went to five consecutive AFC title games and coached the Super Bowl XI championship team in the 1976 season.

"My father used to say the greatness of the Raiders is in the future", Davis said.
