Boxing is sweet science.
After being denied the chance to face the Englishman for a second time previous year, with the bout being postponed on two separate occasions, manager Bernd Boente insists that Fury can forget about stepping back in the ring with Klitschko further down the line.
Klitschko is now training in Austria and will become the second oldest fighter to win the world heavyweight championship if he's successful in London. The ice is thin and the most vicious boxers get conquered.
"I have a lot respect for Anthony and what he's doing". His commitment and physical ability, he can box, he can lift weights, he's strong. My last was a world championship fight, my next fight is a world championship fight for multiple titles as well. "There are a lot of boxers doing it, but cross-fit is not boxing".
The 41-year-old Ukrainian, who ruled the heavyweight division for a decade before his loss to Tyson Fury in 2015, was speaking at his Alpine training camp yesterday as he prepares to face...
However, the flaws he has previously shown means comparisons have also been drawn with the popular, but at world level limited, Frank Bruno, and Klitschko expects that one-dimensional streak to undermine him. I think he has great capability.
"Dr Steelhammer" added: "I'm sorry, should I wait another five years?"
"I am obsessed with winning this fight", Wladimir Klitschko said. "I am ready to walk a long and hard walk to show myself that I can master myself and can be proud of myself".
"I don't want to hear, oh it was too early for him or that Klitschko is over the hill".
"Because of both fighters' rankings, we are looking to apply to the WBA or the IBF to make this fight an official eliminator for the World title and if victorious I expect Scott's next fight to be for a Featherweight World crown".
"Three and a bit years as a pro and I am making history, so I am happy about that side of things".
Klitschko also pointed out that he has had eight previous stadium fights and will relish the atmosphere in London.
