Watson, Simpson make most of family time at soggy Masters

Winkle says Johnson hopes to be able to play in the Masters when it starts on Thursday. Obviously, he's one of the greatest players of all-time but he's also an absolute great guy to be around and to talk to.

However, before they were forced to evacuate the grounds, children of some of the golfers were spotted playing with their parents on the course and frolicking in the grass.

The wind, over the first two rounds, will be an important factor although, given the perception that left-handers have a slight edge here, Jordan Spieth - 2nd-1st-2nd in his last three Masters appearances - has worked out the wind direction could assist right-handers, especially down around Amen Corner where his own title quest collapsed spectacularly a year ago.

Palmer acted as an honorary starter from 2007 to 2016 and was joined by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player from 2010 and 2012 onwards respectively. I'm going to have to drive it well, hit my irons well, putt it well.

"If I want to win here, everything's going to have to go well for me".

Austin's best finish in a major was a second-place finish in the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa, where a late charge left him two shots behind Woods. "I mean, they will move the ball two, three inches in front of their mark, and this is an intentional way to get it out of any type of impression and so forth and I think that kind of stuff needs to stop". Austin has finished in the top 25 in three other majors. The only player to make the Masters his fourth straight victory was Jimmy Demaret.

"This tour is growing on me", said Austin, who once scoffed at the notion of playing on the tour. I am, ask anyone who knows me, a complete p--k in the week leading up to Augusta. "You can never give up, because it takes either a lapse of concentration from someone else or a moment of brilliance from yourself to turn things around".

Austin will, though, cross off another item on his golf bucket list next year, when the Senior British Open will be played at St. Andrews.

"That's the one I've always wanted to play", Austin said. "The home of golf and all of the history you've heard and read about over the years". "I got to eat in the clubhouse last night and one of my dad's friends got me and my brother to meet him and so, that was really cool".

Austin said he'll enjoy watching the Masters this week, even though he didn't so much enjoy the results when he played at Augusta.

"It's a golf course that you've really got to take advantage of when you can take advantage of it, and when it's tough, you've got to be patient". Then you can run up numbers pretty quickly.

"Dustin is just insane", Fowler said.

"It looks unbelievable", he said.
