That said, James has now done a diva "riff-off" with none other than Demi Lovato, and from the finished product, it seems like all of that carpool karaoke has really been good for his vocals.
With Corden, 38, taking the stand that today's divas aren't a patch on the originals, Lovato powered through to show him just how wrong he was.
Corden clapped back with Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High" and Aretha Franklin's "Respect".
In your face, Corden!
"I was like, 'they don't make 'em like that anymore, do they?'" Corden said.
Watch the glorious diva sing-off below. After the late-night host wept over his loss, they settled their differences by dueting on Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".
But Lovato quickly quipped: "I've got hits that are my own".
The Late Late Show diva riff-off was backed by a cappella group Level.
Demi laughed: "Wow, that was bad".
He then pulled up Demi for not performing her own songs after she did Katy Perry, but she came back with her song "Heart Attack".
"Can you just pick my mic up...b--", she told Corden.
