Slaven Bilic wary of Hull City's threat ahead of Saturday's clash

"To end speculation once and for all, the West Ham United Board feel it necessary to announce that we have 100% faith in Slaven Bilic's ability to lead West Ham United", read the statement.

The Hammers are on a six-game winless streak that leaves them only six points above the relegation places with eight games left.

West Ham, meanwhile, are just six points better off - now without a win from their last six league fixtures as the pressure continues to grow on Bilic.

West Ham enjoyed a run of 11 league games with only three defeats between December and February, but consecutive defeats against Chelsea, Bournemouth and Leicester City have blighted chances of a top-half finish.

They do, and they are unbeaten in their last three home games, so they will go into the match with a certain amount of confidence.

Andy Carroll's 50th Premier League goal - and seventh of the season - put West Ham ahead in the first half.

"When I arrived in England, I had a back problem which has been troubling me until now", the striker told West Ham's website.

West Ham now sit in 14th spot in the Premier League table and just six points clear of the drop zone.

"At the end of the day my contract is not running out", Bilic concluded.

West Ham boss Bilic denied that he is set for the axe and said: "It is speculation and I said ages ago it doesn't affect me".

"We had a fantastic season a year ago where players overperformed".

However, after guiding West Ham's recovery following a slow start to the season, the club's board released a statement on Sunday confirming their commitment to the Croatian.

"Of course it's not easy to have a great atmosphere when you have four defeats out of four games, but it's now down to us to show our team spirit and character".

Although Antinio should be back sooner rather than later, he adds to Pedro Obiang and Winston Reid on the injury list for Saturday's important match.

"When we part company with a manager, it is for what we believe are good reasons".
