He then took off his gloves, coat and hat and left them in a neat pile in the ring.
"That means it's time for me to hang it up".
WrestleMania 33 was also apparently the last match for The Undertaker, who after losing to Roman Reigns in the main event, signaled his retirement from wrestling after 27 years.
Dave Meltzer reported that the Undertaker would be going through a few surgical procedures.
Since signing for up for the pro-wrestling brand in 1990, the Undertaker has moulded his personality to become one of the greatest wrestlers. After his loss, reports suggest that he will undergo a complete hip replacement. Big E said that backstage people were talking about it and the impact that Taker has had on the business. He says this is no script, and it's not part of the show.
Teaming up with Seth Rollins (the man who injured him at SummerSlam), to face Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens, Balor gained the pinfall to cap a successful return to the ring. That's when mainstream media took notice, and questions about his retirement began.
Taker was deservedly applauded out of the ring at the end as chants of "Thank you, Taker" rang out across the 75,000-crowd Citrus Bowl. The streak had ended. None of these superstars, save from Austin, has the clout of an Undertaker, and 'Taker's also been in the WWF for a number of eras, which includes the Attitude Era.
Cageside Seats reports that former wrestlers like "The Nature Boy" Rick Flair and Mick Foley reacted on Twitter, with Flair saying that Taker is "the biggest Star in the History of WWE".
The non-title fight between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns was a brutal one.
I stopped watching professional wrestling since 2001 or 2002, but I'd always tune in when The Undertaker was wrestling.
