Golden State Warriors issue Kevin Durant injury update

The Warriors (115.9 ppg) and Rockets (115.8 ppg) are far and away the two highest scoring teams in the National Basketball Association this season, and Houston and Golden State rank first and second in the conference, respectively, in both three-pointers made and attempted per game. They are not the same team they were then.

Spurs games are never like that.

The last time these two teams met under similar circumstances with Golden State playing its third game in four nights in San Antonio, the Warriors essentially conceded the game by resting Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala in a 107-85 loss. With eight games remaining in the season, the Warriors, still two-and-a-half games ahead of the Spurs, are likely to hold onto the No. 1 seed.

Golden State has the easier schedule, getting their three toughest opponents at home after tonight's game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Warriors are now 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall, are 4-1 against the number in their last five conference games, and are a ideal 5-0 at the betting window in their last five games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. That number is down 8 points from their season average, which is now at 104.3 PPG allowed.

"He's coming along awesome", Draymond Green said.

Warriors vs Spurs: Could team face again in playoffs?

The Spurs under Popovich have had as core players one player, David Robinson, in the Hall of Fame and three more (Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker) certain to get the call. We just play the games and in every one there's some good and some there's some bad.

Goran Dragic scored 28 points as the Miami Heat continued their late charge for a play-off place with a 97-96 win over the Detroit Pistons. The team is expected to provide a Kevin Durant injury update within the coming few days.

That winning streak has also put the Warriors back in the driver's seat for the best record in the Western Conference.

Despite six players scoring in double figures, Houston ended the game shooting 5-of-31 from 3-point land.
