Donald Trump Jr. Apparently Wants to Run for Governor of NY

The Independent US reports it was only three years ago that now President Trump considered a run for the Governor's mansion in NY, and it now appears his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, may have similar ambitions.

Current New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is a frequent critic of President Trump and his son, Chris, works for Trump's arch-nemesis, CNN.

According to Page Six, Trump Jr. broached the matter while delivering remarks to members of the F6 Labs gun club, an "elite" group based in Hicksville, New York whose range features a "state of the art law enforcement training facility... using a German engineered system".

One of the guests at the meeting said that while Trump Jr. said he was interested in holding office, he wasn't interested in holding just any office.

Although Donald Jr. didn't say he plans to do it anytime soon, it's clear that he's entertaining the idea of running for office. Maybe. Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. Jr. quipped. "The politics bug bit me".

He reportedly added that he is not considering a run for Senate or Congress.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Don Jr. mused that once his kids were grown he could run for office.

Trump Jr. in March talked about how he missed the campaign trail.

In another exchange on "Opie and Anthony", Don Jr. mocked child beauty pageant contestants from the TLC reality show "Toddlers and Tiaras", joking that the children were abused, and saying of the mothers at the beauty pageants that "they're all fat". Rather, it was the governor's mansion in Albany, now occupied by Democrat Andrew Cuomo, that appealed.

Cuomo is up for re-election in 2018, but has been floated as a potential Democratic presidential candidate in 2020.
