WWE: The Undertaker retires from wrestling after heavy defeat to Roman Reigns

With Roman being Public Enemy Number 1 after retiring The Undertaker, it would be foolish to put him against Lesnar and then have him go over The Beast.

The WWE are always looking to get mainstream attention in the media, and certainly in the United States that was achieved when National Football League star Rob Gronkowski helped Mojo Rawley win the battle royal.

Xavier Woods mentioned The Undertaker's long WWE run and how there are so many memories of The Undertaker for fans.

Although this was a defeat to Roman Reigns, the Deadman stole the show at WrestleMania 33, and had the crowd on their feet applauding in Orlando, Florida.

The Monday Night Raw that takes place the evening after WrestleMania has become a must-see event, almost as anticipated as 'Mania itself.

The brutal final match, wherein the Undertaker suffered only his second ever defeat at Wrestlemania, saw Reigns leave the legend's record end at 23-2.

Anyone who watched last night's match between Reigns and Taker surely felt a sense of increasing dread as it became clear Taker's body has completely broken down. Fans and fellow wrestlers sent out tweets thanking The Undertaker for his illustrious career in the WWE.

Taker's own expression after the match-a mournful, wide-eyed look of raw emotion- seemed to indicate that the icon knew it was over.

Speculations about his retirement even heightened when a 2003 interview with the wrestler surfaced, where The Undertaker explained when he would finally decide to call it quits. The RAW after Mania drew over 5 million viewers in both 2015 and 2014. They've got a lot of things that I can contribute (to), and I've been so blessed in the business that I've done so many different things.

Goldberg says they can take that away from him, and cheer or boo, they still care in some way, and that means he's done something. He loves his family, and the emotion that he feels for the WWE Universe is special. Many hoped he would supplant Roman Reigns as RAW's top "face", especially as Balor's ascension to the top coincided with Reigns coming off a 30 day suspension for violating the WWE's Wellness Policy.
