Costa: Manchester City will be a six-point affair

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said Gabriel Jesus might still play this season.

The 19-year-old underwent surgery and there were fears he could miss the rest of the campaign, but he has now resumed light training and playing again this term has not been discounted.

On Friday, ahead of City's 2-2 draw at Arsenal, Guardiola said: 'The crutches are gone.

Guardiola's side took the lead twice though Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero but walked away from the game with just one point after allowing Arsenal to come back with goals by Theo Walcott and Shkodran Mustafi.

"Hopefully he can help us in the last games of the season and come back for us in the pre-season".

Forwards Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are both in contention to face Arsenal this weekend after suffering injury scares while on worldwide duty over the past fortnight.

City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, defender Pablo Zabaleta and Sterling have recovered from minor knocks to be included in the squad.

He was wished a happy birthday by club and global team mate Fernandinho, who posted a picture of himself with Jesus to social media, captioned: 'We wish to our little brother a happy birthday. They are top, but the players I announced before, they are on the same level.

The City boss said: "I want to congratulate Jesus Navas who was excellent against one of the best players in the world in Alexis Sanchez".

"We wish Gabriel well in his continued recovery and hope to see him back in a blue shirt as soon as possible".

"It's a little bit like Manchester City now".

Form is not on Arsenal's side with Arsene Wenger's men having lost four of their last five Premier League games to slip out of the top four and seven points behind City.

"I'm not here to judge what they have to do and what is going to happen".

"If we could avoid this, that would be better, but the schedule is the schedule".

"We play against a team who are stable in what they do", he added. In many games it was like this.
