Russell Westbrook is Already Making History

Currently, star point guard Russell Westbrook is still entertaining OKC faithful on a nightly basis, but his former running mate, Kevin Durant, is now a member of the Golden State Warriors.

Westbrook notched his 38th triple-double of the season as the Oklahoma City Thunder rallied for a 114-108 overtime win over the Orlando Magic.

Oh, and Westbrook hit an off-balance, game-tying three-pointer with seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Let's start with that highlight, shall we? He finished with 57 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, setting an National Basketball Association record for most points in a triple-double. He'd become just the second player in National Basketball Association history (behind Robertson) to average a triple-double in a season and joins Robertson as the only player to average a triple-double during the month of March.

The Magic did not have the reliable, superstar scorer to counter Westbrook and his incredible 57-point triple double, the most points ever scored in a triple-double game.

Further twisting the knife for the Magic is the fact that it was Westbrook who tortured them a season ago at the Amway Center.

In the Thunder's previous game, a 92-91 win over the Mavericks, Westbrook scored 12 points in the final 3:22 as his squad closed the game on a 14-0 run.

Westbrook needs an additional 39 rebounds and 51 assists to lock up a triple-double average, which will probably take him four or five games.

Cuban's contention has been that Westbrook, while piling up eye-popping statistics, has not been leading his squad to enough wins, at least as compared to the likes of Harden and James.

The Mavs fell to 31-42 and according to Yahoo Sports, they have now locked their first losing season under the helm of owner Marc Cuban.

At this point, things have gotten so silly that Magic fans are chanting Westbrook's name, like this was Rocky IV or something.

"That is definitely a blessing", Westbrook told reporters of his historic night in Orlando, Florida. "It's another road game for us". Terrence Ross had 23 points and hit five of 11 3-pointers. He's a hell of a player and he's been doing it for 70 games now, carrying that team every night. "I don't take this game for granted". Back on October 30, 2016, Westbrook banked in a 3-point shot from half-court as time expired in regulation and pushed the Thunder to a 139-136 double-overtime defeat of Orlando with his 48 points.

HORNETS 110, RAPTORS 106: Marco Belinelli scored 21 points, Kemba Walker had 19 and Charlotte won at Toronto. "Every night I don't think about getting exhausted, I just go out and keep going. You just tip your hat when he does stuff like that".

Blake Griffin collected 26 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, while DeAndre Jordan finished with 23 points and 18 boards for the Clippers.
