Hours later, he retweeted a post about April Fools posts before revealing it was in fact all part of an April Fools prank. "I hope you can count me as one of your early endorsers", tweeted actor and activist Mark Ruffalo.
California environmental attorney Mike Levin tweeted that he was hopeful when he heard Takei was running for office.
"With what is going on now in the country, I couldn't stand by any longer merely as a citizen", Takei said.
Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has come under intense fire for his handling of the investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and ties to President Trump. "People are exhausted of his ass-kissing of Trump". Can I say that?
Takei continued, "I think Nunes is vulnerable". Yesterday, Takei appeared to verify a story running on The Daily Buzz, which stated that he was planning to run for Congress in 2018 in order to unseat California's Devin Nunes. Daily Buzz points out, however, that Takei, a Los Angeles resident, did recently purchase a home in California's Tulare County with his husband. "This is great news!"
This better not be an April Fool's joke. Takei had to even issue an apology to fans for taking "top honors for "most believable" by getting their hopes up.
It appears that famous duo [Takei and his husband Brad] have purchased a ranch-style home in Visalia for the express objective: George Takei is running for Congress. Should he reconsider and actually run against Rep. Devin Nunes?
