Flyers' Neuvirth carted off ice after collapsing in crease

Saturday's game between the Flyers and Devils was suspended early after Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth collapses in net.

During a stoppage in play with the faceoff in the New Jersey Devils end of the ice, the Flyers goalie fell down and appeared to pass out.

Neuvirth was down on the ice for several minutes before being able to sit up. He collapsed after 7:37 of ice time.

Update: In an interview with Chris Therien between periods, Flyers forward Colin McDonald noted that Neuvirth "wasn't feeling that well in the locker room" before the game, and that "we were anxious about him". The goalie was awake and moving almost ten minutes after passing out and was eventually taken off the ice on a stretcher.

Rookie Anthony Stolarz jumped in net in place of Neuvirth.

Neuvirth was attended on the ice by the Flyers' entire medical team, including trainer Jim McCrossin and team physician Gary Dorshimer, among others. Stolarz arrived late to the Wells Fargo Center, missed warmups and was still in the dressing room when the game began.
