13-year-old Nebraska boy picks perfect Final Four

SC took command in the second half versus Stanford, and the Gamecocks reached the NCAA women's basketball championship game for the first time in school history.

"We just approach it like they're any other opponent", Staley said. Combined with 7-1 center Przemek Karnowski, who is good at staying vertical in the post, and 7-foot rim protector and potential National Basketball Association first-round pick Zach Collins, it's plain hard to get easy shots against the Zags.

"I'm not anxious about the refs", Kotsar said.

Gonzaga (37-1) will face the victor of the other national semifinal between North Carolina and OR on Monday night.

"To be playing the last game of the year, that's insane cool", Few said.

The first semifinal, between Gonzaga and SC, starts at 6:09 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Stanford missed three shots on its next possession, and SC quickly extended the lead on freshman Tyasha Harris' one-handed bullet pass to Doniyah Cline, who was open under the basket for a layup. He made the first and missed the second on objective.

"We had been practicing it all year and we always want to foul under 6 (seconds)", Few said. "We must do a good job moving their defense so we can get easier shots". She will "absolutely" be watching the upcoming Final Four games alongside her brother and parents. "NCAA gets beat up a lot, but I think that's something they should be applauded [for], the way they've worked to make this happen".

"The plan was to miss it left and hopefully Chris (Silva) could tap it out to somebody", he said. The rhythm of the third-seeded Oregon's play is largely thanks to the cohesion of the balance of their team, which boasts five players averaging over 10.7 points per game this season. After only two seasons with the Ducks, Dorsey, 21, has been a true success story. "Now we're 40 minutes from a championship". Thornwell has scored at least 24 points in each tournament game, averaging 25.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals. South Carolina's offense is not remotely close to Final Four-caliber, but Frank Martin's defense is so stingy that it hasn't mattered.

The Gamecocks got off to a fast start, going on a 7-2 run to open the game.

To the absolute shock of just about every basketball fan outside of Columbia, South Carolina, the Gamecocks have made it to the Final Four for the first time ever.

"I think the offseason was the biggest part where we felt like we had unfinished business", All-America forward Justin Jackson said. "And just protecting the rim real well".

Karnowski went down on the court in the first half after being poked in the right eye as he took a shot underneath the basket. He left for the last 5 minutes of the half, but Collins picked him up, finishing with 8 points at halftime. "I had blurry vision, a little bit shadow".

"My teammates really rallied around me", Wilson said.

Stanford couldn't get into a rhythm in the second half.

SC advances to Sunday's title game against the victor of Friday's late game between CT and Mississippi State. They don't generally light it up from three-point range, but they knocked down 12 treys in their regional final win against Xavier. The best player for the Gamecocks all regular season, Thornwell has taken it to another level during the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga had made three Elite Eights without advancing to the Final Four. Collins had six and Silas Melson had two for the Bulldogs.

USC will try to deny interior passes up top, with Notice, Sindarius Thornwell and P.J. Dozier hounding the ball-handlers around the arc.
