US House Speaker Ryan understands Trump's frustration on health bill

While it is optimal for a president to earn the loyalty and trust of his Congress, Trump is not really congressional members' boss and this he should understand: We, the people, are their boss.

Meadows, a Republican who represents most of Western North Carolina, is due to speak in Asheville Friday.

"We appreciate the president", Jordan said.

He thinks the president is wrong to be blaming the conservative members of the congressional Freedom Caucus for the spectacular failure of the Trump-backed American Health Care Act. The bill's opponents argued that it didn't deliver a full repeal of Obamacare, it wouldn't have lowered premiums, millions more people would be uninsured and it wouldn't have passed the Senate.

Trump took to Twitter on Thursday, declaring that the House Freedom Caucus will "hurt" the Republican agenda. But Speaker of the House Paul Ryan's office said that official's claim isn't true, and that Ryan and Trump have, in fact, discussed the issue.

Ryan also said he does not believe that Trump is under investigation for ties to Russian Federation. Trump tweeted on Saturday, "ObamaCare will explode and we will all get together and piece together a great healthcare plan for THE PEOPLE".

Brent Bozell, chairman of ForAmerica, warned Trump against alienating the Freedom Caucus, saying they will the biggest supporters of his agenda.

Many in the Freedom Caucus made their way to Washington in the Tea Party tsunami during the first part of the Obama Administration.

"Let's just take a little bit more time to get it right", Jordan told Fox. Responding to reporters' questions about whether Trump's tweets were constructive, the representative added, "It's constructive in fifth grade".

Again, this all seems trivial on its face, but here's why it could have some real consequences as the country approaches the expiration of the continuing resolution now allowing the federal government to keep operating.

Meanwhile, Trump intensified his war on the media with another tweet on Thursday.

Democrats have indicated they may be receptive to working with the White House if Republicans focus on reforming Obamacare.

After House leaders pulled the bill, Trump called members of the Freedom Caucus "friends of mine". "Because the Freedom Caucus, I've talked to them, they want to make a deal, and they want the win for the president and the country". You know why? I want a patient-centered system. The called age-based tax credits in the bill meant to help people buy medical insurance an unwise new federal entitlement. If, by the end of this year, we get a new healthcare law, even if it is a bi-partisan law, even if it's 90% written by Democrats, the Republicans are the ones who get credit for that.

"What I worry about, Norah, is that if we don't do this, then he'll just go work with the Democrats to try and change Obamacare, and that's hardly a conservative thing", Ryan said. McCarthy said nothing is now scheduled and didn't indicate how leadership would resolve divisions between the Freedom Caucus and moderates in the so-called Tuesday Group.
