Ozil and Sanchez want to stay: Wenger

"I have to come back to the strength of the team as much as I can".

"So if Arsenal don't play in the Champions League next season maybe they can win the Premier League".

"I didn't know [that there is one team in London]", Conte told the press.

The former Arsenal defender claim to TalkSport that the north London club could follow in the footsteps of current league leaders Chelsea, who look certain to lift the title this term in their absence of European football.

ARSENE WENGER, Arsenal manager, playing down the transfer rumours surrounding the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Arsenal is more important than me.

Wenger has been in charge at Arsenal for over 20 years and has never finished outside of the Premier League top four in any full season at the helm. With Arsenal now sixth in the Premier League and behind Chelsea (1st) and Tottenham (2nd), they are by no means the "only" team in London.

"I agree that at West Brom [where Arsenal were poor in losing 3-1 in their final game before the worldwide break] we had blind possession - we had 70 per cent possession going nowhere".

"For the club, it will be great for them to say but at the end of it's the players' decision and it's up to them".

"I think he's a fantastic manager, I admire him as a person", Bernstein, speaking at a Congress Investor Club event this week, said of the under-fire Frenchman.

City has drawn its last two league games and also bowed out of the Champions League to Monaco this month.

Whe pressed for comment about the possibility that Sanchez may have been hinting at a switch to Chelsea, Wenger dismissed the notion.

"I don't see anything negative in that".

"It is true that before we sold players when we were in positions where we had to sell financially", he added. That's not the case anymore.

"When you lose a lot of games it is a risky moment", he said. At this time of the season there are already many minutes in the legs, people are training for the Premier, for the Europa League, for qualifiers and it's risky to play friendly matches, I would avoid them. "I personally believe that both of them want to stay and hope the club finds an agreement with them", he said.

"I've at least shown one thing in my life at Arsenal, I've shown loyalty". Indeed, the Citizens have struggled somewhat against their competitors for European spots all season as they're just W2-D3-L4 against top-seven teams and as a result we're certainly going to take them on at 2.2.
